If you are looking for an opportunity to be “offline” and in complete harmony with nature, horses and meeting new people, we have the solution for you! This holiday program will give you the perfect combination of all this.
PROGRAM
For a week, you will enjoy a horseback riding holiday! At the farm, you will enjoy horseback riding activities every day in the typical Alentejo landscapes. But it doesn’t stop there! You will also experience other types of activities, such as bike rides, water activities like canoeing, pool games, or even the beach.
Daily Schedule:

Mornings: Focused riding lessons tailored to your level (Beginner to Advanced, including Show Jumping or Dressage clinics for experienced riders).

Afternoons: Classic summer camp fun — enjoy activities like canoeing, go-karting, beach time, water sports, rock climbing, and creative workshops.

Evenings: Social events such as bowling and karaoke nights keep the fun going.
Every morning you will have an equestrian activity that may vary depending on your riding level. You will learn a lot about horses, both in practical and theoretical terms. This is because the “Art of Riding Well in the Saddle” is part of the family tradition of this program. The main objective is that while you have fun, you also develop new skills.
Activities will be tailored to each participant’s level. You will have introductory and advanced riding lessons in both regular and obstacle training sessions at our training camps, as well as lessons, rides and outdoor horse riding. Our Lusitano, Hanoverian, Sport Cross and other Cross breed horses offer a variety of options for different activities and levels of participants.
In addition to equestrian activities, there are many other multi-activities!
In the afternoons, you will have several types of activities, such as canoeing, orienteering, archery, tennis, basketball, among others.
At the end of the summer camp you will also have the opportunity to participate in a show and receive a final certificate of participation.

ACCOMMODATION
Herdade do Montalvo is located less than 1 hour from Lisbon, between the stunning city of Alcácer do Sal and Praia da Comporta, with more than 1000 hectares of the characteristic Montado Alentejo, this course is located in an environment of full nature.
The facilities at the Equestrian Center include: a yard with 16 boxes, paddocks, pasture, 2 training fields, a covered riding arena, a common room and changing rooms. The horses at the center are well cared for and prepared, providing excellent conditions for leisure, as well as for any level of learning!
At the estate you will sleep in wooden cabins throughout your stay!
FOOD
The program is full board, with a total of 4 meals: breakfast, lunch, snack and dinner.
If you have any allergies or special dietary requests, please let us know during your booking.
SUPERVISION
The Equestrian Center team is made up of 2 qualified trainers, as well as young monitors who are available for whatever you need.
ARRIVAL & DEPARTURE
You must arrive at the farm independently at a time to be arranged closest to the start date of the program.
There is a possibility of transfer from Lisbon airport for international participants Price: 300€ .
If you only need to book the transfer for one of the trips the cost is 150€ .
Additional Information
Children aged 6 and over can participate, as long as they are accompanied by a family member.
There is a discount for siblings in this holiday program.
Don’t worry about the language barrier! The staff speaks several languages, including Portuguese, German, English and French.
We do not advise participants to bring valuables.
Insurance
We recommend taking out travel insurance whenever booking a trip for children and young people. This insurance protects you, for example, against the financial consequences of an illness or accident before and/or during your camping holiday or covers you against the loss or damage of personal belongings. It also provides support in case of premature departure due to unforeseen circumstances. Travel insurance gives you the assurance that you are well covered during summer camp and that you can enjoy your trip without any worries.
